Tiangong- The Chinese Space Station

Tiangong Space Station The Tiangong Space Station (Translation: Heavenly Palace) is a Chinese space station(CSS) that is expected to be operational by 2022 after all the modules are delivered and assembled in the proposed low earth orbit of 340-450 km above the surface of Earth. It'll be roughly one-fifth the mass of the International Space Station and 20 meters in length. The Tiangong is expected to have a mass between 80 and 100 t (180,000 and 220,000 lb). Its operations will be controlled by the Beijing Aerospace Command and Control Center in China. The core module, the Tianhe (Harmony of the Heavens) was launched on 29 April 2021 via a Long March 5B heavy-lift rocket.   Tianhe - The core module     Wentian - 1st Lab Cabin Module (LCM)   Meng tian  - 2nd Lab Cabin Module   (LCM) The Wentian and Mengtian modules are scheduled to be launched in May-June of 2022. Starships Till Date

Starhopper The Starhopper was one of the initial prototype space flight vehicles made by space x for flight and engine testings. It consisted of one raptor engine enshielded within an aluminum body casing. The Starhopper took three maiden flights and was finally retired after its final 150 meters hop on 27 August 2019. First Flight: - 5 April 2019: First hop of ~1 meter (3 feet) of 5 seconds Second Flight: - 25 July 2019: Second hop of 20 meters (66 feet) of 22 seconds Third Flight: - 27 August 2019: Third and final flight of 150 meters (490 feet) of 1 minute   SN1 A prototype known as Mk3 was renamed SN1 (Serial Number 1). It was destroyed on 26 February 2020 during a pressure test when the tank ruptured near its thrust puck.   SN2 After facing difficulties with the thrust puck, Space X focused on it and made SN2 as a scaled-down test tank to focus testing on the structural integrity of the thrust puck. SN2 successfully passed the pressure and cryogenic tests on 9 Marc

Elon Musk: A man with dreams turning to reality

Elon Musk; a billionaire, inventor, and philanthropist, has taken the 21st-century world by a storm. Musk was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa. He briefly attended the University of Pretoria before moving to Canada aged 17 to attend Queen's University. He transferred to the University of Pennsylvania two years later, where he received dual bachelor's degrees in economics and physics. He moved to California in 1995 to attend Stanford University but decided instead to pursue a business career, co-founding the web software company Zip2 with his brother Kimbal.  Musk co-founded an online bank X.com that same year, which merged with Confinity in 2000 to form the company PayPal and was subsequently bought by eBay in 2002 for $1.5 billion. In 2002, Musk founded SpaceX, an aerospace manufacturer, and space transport services company, of which he is CEO, CTO, and lead designer. In 2004, he joined electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Motors, Inc. (now Tesla, Inc.) as chairman and

Tardigrades (Water Bears, Moss Piglets)

Tardigrades: Tardigrades belong to the phylum Tardigrada of kingdom Animalia. Lazzaro Spallanzani in 1777 named them Tardigradum which means "slow walker".  Tardigrades are eight legged microscopic animals. They’re commonly known as water bears or moss piglets. We have discovered 1000+ species of tardigrades till now.   The name "water-bear" comes from the way of their gait, as they look like a bear walking; Mosses and lichens are their preferred habitat hence their nickname, moss piglet.   Tardigrades are naturally found on mountaintops, in the deep sea, in tropical rain forests and even the frigid Antarctic. Most species are found to be living in freshwater or semiaquatic terrestrial environments. They’re considered aquatic because they need water around their bodies for gaseous exchanges as well as to prevent themselves from drying out (desiccation).   Tardigrades are covered in a tough cuticle, similar to the exoskeletons of grasshoppers, praying mant
